Mike, you can leave the old drive inside the system. I would recommend purchasing a Samsung EVO 860 drive as they are super reliable and fast and the Samsung DATA Migration software is free to download and simple to use. Once the transfer has completed you can simply power the computer down and unplug the power to the old drive and turn the system on.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used a docking station to clone my laptop. Worked perfectly. You can use the Samsung free app or I used EaseUS Todo Backup simply because I had it. Either one should work for you as well.
