Bought this model last march at my local best buy, Installed in my motorhome with direct 12v connection via cig lighter cord. It has functioned incredibly well for me even at lower voltages, Occasionally the audio will go out as battery levels dip below 10.5v but returns to normal when voltage is restored. digital reception of the tuner is exceptional, my previous digital converter tuned in 27 channels, this TV easily tuned in 35 channels for my area (I was thrilled as I don't have satellite) This unit uses very little power as I have had many evenings or days or 4-6+ hours operation without interuption but this will certainly depend on your batteries and power usage from other systems (ie, lights, pumps etc) I understand using the set in this manner most likely voids your warranty but at this price point it was/is an acceptable risk.
