I can't solve this but i've found a useful shortcut. As soon as the TV boots up, hit the voice control button and say "Input HDMI1". Works! I use the command to go right to my DirectTV box connected via composite input cables.

Navigate to the Settings menu by selecting the gear icon. Select Display & Sounds from the Settings menu. Choose Power On and then select Last Input. This will ensure that the TV powers on to the last input used, which should be HDMI1 if that was the last input selected. If you want to ensure it always starts on HDMI1 regardless of the last input used: Go to the Inputs row on the Home screen. Select HDMI1 and make sure it is the active input before turning off the TV. These steps should help you set your TV to default to HDMI1 input when powered on12.
