“This says "Fire TV" - must I have an Amazon Fire Stick to use this tv or can I just plug it into the HDMI port from my cable services to operate the tv? And am I able to use streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, FuBu tv with this tv.”

Just plug it in. It will ask for your internet password and any other streaming passwords..and your allset. Its wireless connection....

A 24" is much more feasible for this space and since this Insignia is smart tv, I can connect it to my home wifi and go. I might even figure out how to get away from cable, lol.
