I've used cables similar to this to wire older Motorola (now Cambian) point to point 5.8 GHz transceivers from outside eaves to inside power adapter/lightning protector for temporary links. Standalone 10/100Base-T lightning arrestors are not commonly found and can be pricey. If it doesn't have a good solid earth ground connection, then it can't really protect well.
