“I’ve had my portable ac for some years now. I have no plugs in the drain and no hose connected. It sfill works amazing, blowing out very cold air. Does it matter that I dont have any plugs in the two drains or any hose in either drain?”

These units are designed to evaporate most of the moisture they collect during cooling, particularly in environments with moderate humidity. The two drain ports serve different purposes: the upper port is typically used for continuous drainage in very humid conditions or when using the dehumidifier mode, while the lower port is for manually draining excess water if the internal tank fills up. If your unit is still blowing cold air and there’s no water pooling around it, that means the internal evaporation system is working efficiently.
