Does the window kit include everything I need and will seal the edges around the hose completely! I see some reviews saying they custom made some kind of wood cut out, but I don’t understand why or if the included kit will not do the trick? null

It includes the basic cutout panel and a few extra panels to make it fit the opening, also sticky foam tape and non-sticky foam tape. Unless you have a weird window that swings open this should be all you need.

Well, people have different kinds of windows... So they may have to improvise.
That is my case. 
I live in a basement. My window's opening is only 12.5 inches long, which means that the provided slide is too big for it.
Gotta DIY!
