Ive had it for a short time but noticed if even when draining it still gives a smell but if you look behind the filter on bottom and use a flashlight theres still water in the back tray. I tend to drain then soak up with paper towels or a rag all the water left. And then wipe down the air vent with a wipe to get smell off a bit and it goes away. Also maybe drain it more often I do it every week or two depending hot humid.
