• No. It needs space around it for cooling purposes. The instructions tell you that it is a free standing unit only.

• Mine is installed where my dishwasher used to be. It is enclosed and seems to work fine. However, you should be able to schedule a visit from a Best Buy representative to visit your home for a consultation. That is what I did, and he was the person who recommended this item for me. There may have been other brands that would have also worked (Insignia is a Best Buy brand), but I am happy with my purchase.
