The manual recommends 55 degrees but that does not sound right to me. I am going to guess which is of next to no help but I would run it to the high 30's to low 40's as my cut off. I ran a different brand in my outside unheated garage and used that formula and had no problems. I'm sure more than a few of those nights dipped below freezing but would not recommend that. Maybe the low temperatures just did not cause the compressor to kick on or just a few times. I think prolonged operation in those near freezing conditions may not be good. That freezer is in a different location now, is 12 years old and still runs great.
