This unit works in ambient temperatures between 50°F to 110°F degrees. Position your freezer away from direct sunlight. Extremely cold temperatures may also prevent your freezer from performing correctly. Avoid locating your freezer in moist areas.

According to the instructions, it states to "make sure that the ambient temperature is greater than 55 degrees F (13 C)." I live in Georgia and have it in my unheated and non-insulated garage. We did have a few cold days recently in the upper 20's, so I'm sure that my garage temperature went below this 55 degrees and the freezer did fine. But, our cold snaps last only a few days at a time and rarely reach the temperatures that you experience in Nevada.
