I have the same freezer and mine opens easy as well. I think as long as your food isn't defrosting, it should be fine. My food is nicely frozen. This was the best decision I ever made!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We just bought the insignia 3.5 chest freezer yesterday and plugged it in at the shop for testing. I noticed our door opens very easily and does not appear to have magnet resistance in the rubber gasket however is a good fit and is 100% sealed. We bought a remote thermometer and put the sensor in the new Insignia that way we can tell the inside temperature without opening the door. This may help a lot in the event of a power outage and may save the food until I could get alternative power hooked up to it which is the main purpose of my test. We just bought a Jackery 1000 and already had a 240. I'm going to put it on the 240 today for 24 hours and then I'm going to switch to the 1000 and leave it on until I need to recharge to see how long it will go. We have a back up gas generator as well.
