It will depend on the room temperature, The setting its placed on and how often you open it. In general, if its in an environment of 45 to 70*, set just slightly above medium, but not high and you open it once or twice a week for a few seconds, defrosting will be prolonged. Moisture and room temperature air rushing into a deep frez is what starts ice build up.
