How do you set manual use? How do you open the lid? null

There is a button you can push to manually open and close on the side of the sensor

Motion automatically opens the lid

You add the 2 AA Batteries push power and wave hand over the power button lid opens

I have one of these that I did not put batteries into, and fixed a small drawer pull with a screw on the inside to open the can and close it, because I did not want the motion activation. works great! I got a drawer pull to match the other decor in the room. Ill attach a picture when I get home

Just left up the lid Manually, to throw away whatever garbage I have

Install battery then wave hand over the trash can.

You will have to use a knife or something with a point to lift the lids open

It opens itself. Works with batteries.
