- Answer Yes. You can use it outdoors but like any electrical connect it is important to keep it off the ground out of possible puddles or snow.

QuestionWhy are you not supposed to plug surge protectors into a UPS? Can I use this instead of the surge protector to solve the problem of the UPS outlets not being spaced properly to accommodate large plugs associated with modems, routers, Vonage, & phone base?

- Answer Yes. This works ideally for making space for the large block type plugs. Keep in mind when using this on a UPS, that if the wire you are using is a THREE splitter that the three items will be drawing from the same port in the UPS, and some of your UPS Ports are designed to stay on after power goes out and others are designed to simply not surge, so be sure the three items are adaptable to the outlet you plug into on your UPS. (Constant on or Surge only).
