they give u the hose but it goes out the window like a dryer hose

The exhaust hose goes out the window. Otherwise you would be blowing the hot air in the room. It comes with the hose, and window brackets

For the portable air conditioner it comes with a hose that connects to the window. You do not have to purchase a separate hose. It has to be connected to the window in order for it to work properly. The hose connects to a bar that can be adjustable and the window is closed around the bar. Most portable air conditioners, if not all, work the same way. So far it has been pretty useful especially since it's been getting hotter recently.
