“Is it normal for this AC to sound like a jack hammer? I just set this up for the first time and it is super loud i couldn't keep it turned on dor more than a minute it was terrible. Is this normal or do i possibly have a defective unit?”

I equate the sound to something like a commercial freezer running, when the compressor kicks on. It's loud, louder than a window unit, but I don't have issues with it. Jack hammer though? No, mine doesn't sound like that.

If I remove the back panel and push the black cylinder away from the near wall, that noise goes away. so I could shim something in between there which is temp resistant, or if I can get deeper in, figure out exactly what is vibrating against what. my guess is a design issue such where the required tolerances to not have vibration are too tight.
