“Does the machine need to be vented out the window when in “dry” mode? The instructions seem to say no, but mine keeps turning on the compressor and blowing hot air out of where the vent hose would go when I run it in dry mode, with or without venting.”

• Yes, you still have to use the hose to vent outside air when in dry mode. Dry mode acts like a dehumidifier, so the hot air is still vented from the room and you must hook up a hose to the upper drain hole so the water can exit the unit, so have a bucket handy or run the hose outside for continuous operation.
