“I will have to set it on its back to drive it home. The bestbuy guy says it does not have to sit upright for a few hours (like a refrig) for oil to settle before turning on. I see no mention of this in the manual. Any thoughts?”

• I have another portable ac unit from another brand and it clearly stated to keep it upright for 24 hours before first operation due to shipping.

• If you cannot transport it standing up, it will need to sit upright for a few hours to let the oil settle. All portable A/C units require this, otherwise you could damage the unit.

• The Best Buy person is not an HVAC technician. I would let it sit uprite for 24 hours or it could void the warranty. Best Wishes!!
