That is what I use it for. It works great as a 1080p monitor via HDMI.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it can, though I'm having trouble getting the setting right so that it doesn't have an overly contrasty "glow." Your PC resolution should be set to 1080p (1920x1080), and the Insignia lets you set a picture profile for each input (say, HDMI1 for your PC), which is nice. There's even a "PC" picture profile, but my experience so far is that it's not great. Still way too bright and contrasty. Blacks are gray, not black. Colors have a constrasty "glow" around them. I've turned down the backlight and contrast and brightness and that's helped a bit, but it makes the blacks even grayer. So far, I love this as a TV but give is a 'C' at best as a computer monitor.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.YES! The only problem with that is that you have to click on the remotes, settings button, select input and pick the hdmi or other port that your computer is connected to. I'm OK with it. It's only a few quick clicks. Hope this helps...
