• Hook up your Cable Box using an HDMI cable, this connection doesn't require to do a channel scan.

• I would say download tour tv providers app on the smart tv and sign in. Then it will recognize your login information provided by your carrier. If your trying to use free stuff which there’s thousands of them try using plutotv. Zumo tv. And several others are free.
