You can watch your local channels by hooking up an antenna to it. Go into settings and set it to antenna and use auto scan to search for channels.

You will need an internet connection for the apps, such as Netflix, YouTube and etc.

Yes, Televisions still are quite capable of receiving live over the air signals and in high definition for free. All you need is an antenna. No internet required for live TV
