• We have 2 TVs that we just use our WiFi. Do not have cable. In addition to the Amazon on the TV, we have added HBO and Netflix. Works fine.

• I cut the "cord" with my cable co., so to speak. It is ruralish here so I have to stay with them for my wifi/internet. I stream everything now and joined one of those live tv plus competitors. So no you do not "need" cable. I am satisfied so far with the apps and/or my chosen apps with this t.v. Hope this helps you... Take care...

• No cable needed-just WiFi. Apps are basically pre loaded and super easy to use, but subscriptions required to access certain apps.
