You can use it as a computer monitor, but for the price that you pay for it. You are better off buying a actual computer monitor. It's designed to be used as a smart TV with fire Stick software already installed. And speakers. So it would be a waste to use it as a computer monitor. But if you had to you could. It does have two HDMI inputs as well as one set of RCA and a RF antenna if you want to go that route for local channels.
