• I set mine up all alone and yeah it has an adjustable part for the window for horizontal or vertical openings

• Yes it can be installed with horizontal and vertical windows it comes with the attachment to fit either of the two and it's very easy i would recommend aluminum tape around the connection to prevent air leaks

• I had no problem setting this up. Very simple. Although I put it in a regular vertically sliding window, I see no problem with a horizontal sliding window as long as the window kit fits the size window you are using.
