“Setup tv @ vacation home, no WiFi yet but setup to cable w/o HD. Speakers don’t work properly, have a static sound every few seconds, I used my Verizon jet pack for WiFi and the amazon prime movies sound fine. Why & will it play HBO when I subscribe?”

Check connections. Hbo should work just fine. I got amazon, hulu, sling, hbo, and netflix on it and they work just perfectly fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It should play HBO just fine when you subscribe, you automatically log into your amazon account so you don’t have to renter any information.. I don’t know why your sound bar sounds like that though.
