“Can you use powder laundry detergent in this washer? Also, I use epsom salt as a fabric softener with my current, old school washer. Would I still be able to use it for this washer? Thanks!”

The factory recommendation is to use an HE Detergent. I do not use powder however I think it would be okay because it has the standard (old school) agitator. I also think that using a small amount of Espom will be okay. It’s updated but still a typical 80’s washer. I love it by the way!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't see why not. When you open the lid the laundry detergent whether liquid or powder goes in the front left. It uses water to wash it down to the drum. Just like the commercial washers at the laundromat. It does say to use HE soap so as long as the powder is approved for use in HE machines it should be fine. I wouldn't hesitate to use powder in my machine if I bought it.

After buying this unit, it's been perfect for both. We haven't used Epsom Salts before in it, but because they do dissolve, I wouldn't imagine there would be any harm to the machine.
