Why is my fabric softener dispenser flooded? null

I bought this machine to replace a front loader. Over time fabric softener would gunk up in the dispenser tray. This is most likely happening in this machine's dispenser in an area that you can't see or get to. As suggested, try pouring hot water through the dispenser. It may take time, but in the mean while use a Downey Ball.

Having same issue for past month or so. Very frustrating! Did not have this problem when first got it.
