As others have stated, you can use the soak button, but you can also pause the machine. Have it fill up, hit pause to unlock the lid, add detergent and bleach directly into the water, close lid and hit pause to get machine to start again. After it has agitated a bit (to distribute detergent and bleach), hit pause to stop the cycle. After items have soaked for your desired length of time, hit pause to continue the wash.

Thanks to all who take the time to reply and review, it really means a lot to some of us. Because of these reviews I am returning the Samsung for this and 5 years Geek Squad, almost the same price and I get 6 years full warranty. That seemed to make a lot more sense that buying a high priced machine.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That is correct, the towels have to be in the machine and the lid closed for it to work. Put the bleach in the dispenser and the towels in the washer. Press the soak button and set your washing cycle. Then push the power button and the start button.
