“My fabric softener dispenser is full of water and I can’t figure out how to clean it or why it’s not draining”

The water in the softner area wont drain either. I have put softner and it cycles out but water continues to be in it. I have clean it with multiple times. Baking soda and Vinegar to make sure its not clogged, i have added water to see if its fraining and not clogged. If the softner isnt still in there after the cycle it cant be clogged still. Yet the water left wont drain either. Idk i have had mune for 3.5 years and it started doung that just after my 3 year insurance through best buy.
