“Not 24 hours have passed since I bought the fridge and it already has frost/ice build up in the back that is 1/4 thick. I know it says its a manual defrost but only the freezer not the lower compartment. Can this be a malfunction?”

Mine started doing that after one day, so I lowered the cooling setting one number, then it stopped creating ice build up on the back wall, note : was even freezing my liquid drinks. Now it works like a charm
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not sure but have had mine for more then a month and no ice build up in mine. The last one I owned took at least six months for ice to build up in it. Hope that helps.
