Hello Rhodesia! It's great that you are thinking ahead as you and a lot of others probably noticed right away that the only "manual" control button on this 40" Insignia TV model is the on/off power button which is located on the lower right hand edge of the TV. A universal remote control which is a great value and has an extremely high degree of functionality is the Insignia 4-device universal remote control--Insignia model number: NS-RMT415 (Best Buy SKU: 4502603). It regularly trends at $29.99; however, it often goes on sale for less. If you and others who are interested in a Universal remote control went on the website Insigniaproducts.com and entered the model number of this remote control you and others would be able to see just how many different brands of televisions and other types of electronic devices which this great universal remote can command.
