• Some cable channels are in 720p and that cannot be changed from the TV settings.

• The signal from your cable box is 720p. You can't change that. You may have tv channels in your package with 1080i. Blue-ray player is definitely 1080p.

• Cable still broadcasts programming in 720p unless the channel says otherwise, so there is no way to change that.
