“I can change from Home to an input like HDMI but once there I cannot switch back to home or choose a different HDMI device. Anyone know why/how to fix this? I'm stuck on a different device and can't find a way to switch.”

Press the settings button on the remote and a menu will pop up in the right side of the screen that will let you go to another input. You can always click the home button and well and start back over in the firetv home screen.
