“I bought a insignia 49 inch I believe tv from best buy about 5 yrs ago and now it no longer comes on,it will display the insignia logo very briefly and then nothing.should I pitch it or fix it.”

I would get a new one. The cost to fix is outrageous and usually getting a new one is cheaper. It is more than likely the main board for the T.V. which is not cheap.
