“Why does certain over the air antenna channels show as 1080i and others are 480i which is a much smaller picture. This tv is advertised as full hd (1080i)”

This TV supports 1080 - Full HD channels; unfortunately if the channels are 480, the TV cannot change the resolution of that signal.
