No it does not. As the ice melts it is recycled in the machine.

Yes and no. The ice stays cold, because ice is cold, however, the ice it makes melts, back into the water supply and then it begins making ice again. This is actually true of most "ice makers" in all sizes. The ice goes into a bin and then slowly melts.
