I have them outdoors under a covered patio in an open fixture, open at bottom and no problems so far.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There are bulbs rated for outdoor use, but this one should be okay as long as it is protected from the elements. It may have a shorter life span than an outdoor rated bulb - check manufacturer notes on this - but it should work fine. I've been using an indoor rated LED bulb in a protected outside fixture for a few years now, and it runs fine 8 to 13 hours a night year-round through temps as low as minus 20 F and as high as 109 F.
