Yes, I love the 45w charger. It is so fast. My research indicated you could go as high as 70w and not hurt your computer.

Please try again later.This is only hearsay, but others have said that Mac negotiates with the power source to take what it needs - this the fear that not all 3rd party devices will work at all (lacking the circuitry). But I would ask at the apple store - NOT the sales ppl, they don't know. I've been round and round on that ride before! Make an appointment with a genius. HOWEVER, I use this on my 2015 macbook air which specifically calls for 45W. I also use it on my 4th gen ipad air, which calls for 20W. So, maybe over time I will do damage that I haven't seen yet? Works so far.
