A:AnswerThis unit has two external audio settings for the headphone out jack. One will allow the external speakers to be controlled by the TV remote (and of course separately by the external audio unit itself ), this will allow the TV remote to control both the volume and mute functions of the external speakers. A second option sets an external fixed volume, in which case the external speakers are controlled by the separate audio unit.
It also allows an option which will automatically disconnect the internal speakers when an external speaker is connected or set the internal speakers to a fixed ON or OFF setting .
