• I had the same problem.I solved it by getting an inexpensive sound bar (an Insignia),sound is much improved.

• This TV has only 7.5W speakers. Pretty weak if you are not up close. I added a Visio 3.1 soundbar with wireless subwoofer to mine and all is good. Lots of options for various budgets.
