Good for our kind of use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are not big movie watchers, mostly regular programming and lots of news/talk shows, so a 5.1 system was not going to be useful for us. Besides that, the additional side/rear speakers would necessitate running wires all around the room. This 3.1 product seems fine so far. My only dislike is the volume control, when transferred to the main remote control, is not very nuanced. There seem to be big jumps from level to level in volume. We have also lost that connection a couple of times now, when the main remote can no longer control volume or muting. I have had to reset it twice in two weeks now, and that itself is a challenge to get it to take. The Bluetooth subwoofer is easily hidden, only needs 3 inches in height under something or can be stood up against the wall. I put ours under the small cabinet below the TV.

Product received with damage and losing sound
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound and subwoofer are really good but for some reason, the sound keeps disappearing in the middle of the soundbar like when I'm playing on my PS4 and every time I press the PS icon menu button, the sound keeps losing. I had to reset and press the "sound source" button to fix it. I don't want to do that every time I press the PS icon menu button. But it works fine when your watching movies. Other than that, left and right audio are working fine. It's even damaged at the middle part of the soundbar when it arrived at my home. I'm disappointed.

Excellent sound quality but no 4k HDMI?
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Vizio 3.1 soundbar for new Vizio 50" M series in bedroom. Went with Vizio soundbar based on good reviews for sound quality, nice design with slim wireless Subwoofer and to ensure compatibility and ease of integration. FAILS- This confirmed after multiple sessions with Tech Support chats and calls. 1. HDMI does NOT pass 4K HDR despite QA statements on this site that say it will. 2. The Soundbar/remote cannot learn the remote codes of the Vizio M series TV so you still end up using 2 remotes for soundbar and TV. PASS- 1.Design is very nice and matches the Vizio M series look. 2.Wireless Subwoofer slips easily under the bed. 3.Sound quality is excellent. Frustrating to find such incompatibility within the Vizio product line. Also unacceptable that there is misinformation that it IS compatible when IT IS NOT! After ridiculous wait times on hold due to Covid we are still unable to get a call back for return/exchange so we just gave up on Vizio/Best Buy support. My work-around is just use optical audio out from TV direct to Soundbar and use 4K/HD HDMI Video out of Roku Ultra into TV 4K HDMI. So just like the old days we use 2 remotes. We love our 65" Mseries in Living Room and the new 50" in Bedroom but hey Vizio! What's with the Soundbar? Disappointed.

Great little sound bar setup!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing sounds great and is good for a small to medium room. I use it outside in a setup on our back porch and it gets plenty loud. The sub has really deep bass. One thing I learned right away is that you need to turn off “eco mode” to keep the sound bar from silencing the sub at lower volumes. For a while I thought the sub was becoming unpaired all the time, but that was the cause.

Big sound low profile
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted something small and almost hidden in my new home. The sub was the seller of this system. Its fits perfect under a sofa chair and its wireless! All you can see is the bar on my entertainment center. The sound overall is great! especially for the low price of this system. I just wish that I could add the rear surround speakers down the road, but I'm not sure its an option.

Replaced my surround sound!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After almost 11 years my theater-in-a-box system died. I researched the whole gamut of systems from $100 soundbars to $1000 theater systems. Based on the size of my living room I decided to give this a shot. So far have been pleasantly surprised!! We placed the subwoofer behind the couch (with the thin profile it fit awesome) and the 38“ bar sits nicely in front of the tv. The sound is excellent and in some movies the bass will actually make you smile. There are a lot of custom settings within the system and the app works pretty well on my Android phone. To be honest the only real criticism, but in 2017 I consider it a big one, is the remote is terrible. It is not intuitive in the least and for a home theater device I am shocked it is not backlit!!! Other than that I would recommend this to anyone.

So far So good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The set up is quite effortless. The look is great. The sound is good and the main audio for my new TV which has trash speakers. Only had this item about a month. So maybe I’ll update later.

Great sound for the price, but far from perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can't beat Vizio's quality for the price, in all their products. Setup was extremely easy, sound quality is a 7/10, and the slim wireless sub is fantastic. Certainly a noticeable audio quality difference from the Bose and Sonos soundbars, however.

Q: QuestionCan you use USB instead of HDMI? What do you lose in quality or functionality if you use USB. Why is HDMI better?
Asked by squint.
- A:Answer No, HDMI is a method for connecting an AV device to play audio from a broadcasting device. The USB can only play a limited number of formats from a storage drive. As an example- you couldn't connect your TV to the sound bar through USB, you'd need to use HDMI.
