It absolutely will. The blue colored USB port is the 3.0 port for an external hard drive. Just make sure your external hard drive also uses a 3.0 USB connection as that is the only one that the ps4 will use.

Yes, I use the blue port for my 8TB WD easystore. works PERFECT!. I use the second port for PSVR, third for the Uncharted 4 dual shock 4 charger (it also charges on sleep mode)
