To answer your first question, they are only different in that the 10 watt will charge faster than the 5 watt. No, if you used a 12watt iPad adapter it would not suddenly make the charging pad jump from 5 or 10 watts to 12. Remember, electricity and charging pads like this are fixed, meaning that you can’t add, subtract or multiply power input or output. Just because I have a 10 watt wall plug and I use it for a charging pad that’s 5 watt, it doesn’t meant the charging pad will charge faster. The charging pad has a fixed output wattage, and the hardware is not designed to be able to output more than it was designed for. It’s like a portable charger, you wouldn’t use a portable charge to light up a Christmas tree, even if you could find one big enough. And adding a cable that could transfer more electricity to the tree wouldn’t do any good cause the portable charger would just die faster. Right ? So, I hope I was able to give you a better understanding of what electricity is like when it comes to charging devices
