“Purchased this TV. I have to raise the sound level to 80 to 100 to comfortably hear the TV. I spoke to a Best Buy salesperson and he said that it was normal. Can anyone confirm that the top end sound levels are not very loud?”

Across the board the sound level is pretty low

Please try again later.Most built in TV "speakers" (I say "speakers" because many use sound coils and not true speakers) do not get very loud, and the sound quality is typically very poor. This is why so many people also purchase sound systems or sound bars with their TVs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have this TV in my bedroom and it is located about 10 feet from the bed. I can hear the TV fine with the volume between 12 and 20. I've read reviews where people said that the sound was great and read some where the sound was poor. I guess...they perform different according to different buyers although they are the same model.
