I purchased my Tv a week ago and I am using my cable company box so the answer is yes, you can use without a prime account.
You don’t need amazon account to use this TV. Watch your cable or from-the-air if you have RF antenna, or stream whatever you like, provided that you have subscriptions for whatever requires subscription - amazon is no different in that respect.
You should be able to use any apps you want to load or subscribe to without having to load prime. You would probably need an Amazon account connected to it though.
