“Hello, I'm on my 3rd one of this model/size, and have to agree, the sound/volume is terrible, even with the sound maxed out, it is hard to hear, I have tried sound bars, remote speakers, nothing seems to answer the call. Pic is fine, any answers?”

When I first turned mine on the volume was very low. I turned the volume on the set top box up and now it's plenty loud and I am using it outdoors.

This is because most people want a thin bezeled, low profile TV which does not leave room for speakers aimed towards the user. A quality sound bar or other powered external speakers like those in a home theater system are usually the answer. If you are using external powered speakers, then the speakers on the TV should not be on so their performance is no longer a concern. If you are not satisfied with your external speakers or sound bar, then that is not an issue with the TV if you have everything set up correctly; it would be an issue with the sound bar or external speakers. I have hooked up many TVs with powered sound bars and they all sound better than the TVs built in speakers.
