      Worth The Money

I bought this TV based on reviews and price ($279 on sale). I had purchased a budget 4K TV and just wasn't happy with it, so I returned it and bought this "old school" 1080 instead. Big 1080's are getting scarce these days, but I thought this would be fine for my needs. Overall picture quality is quite good, though I had a hard time tweaking the settings to get flesh tones exactly right. Overall colors, resolution, contrast, and brightness are fine. I was surprised that this TV actually has decent sound, unlike a lot of other cheap TV's. It won't compare to any kind of soundbar or other external audio system, but internal speakers sound fine and don't have the "tinny" sound like found on a bunch of other LED TV's. Overall, if you have more money to spend you can get a better TV with more features. But if you just want a basic performer without a lot of bells and whistles, you will be happy with this Insignia model. For what its worth, the BB guy said it was made by Hisense.

Great picture, great price! Not a fan of the sound quality; I solved that though with a sound bar. It is not a smart TV but I have Dish and a wi-fi blue-ray player so no real issues there. It also only uses a 1/8" stereo plug for an external surround-sound system hook-up which does not work very well: you have to crank the volume way up for a decent volume level so an older surround sound system will probably not be useful.

I bought this 55” tv to replace a smaller size I love the larger screen. The picture is so clear and enjoyable to view. I love the sleek style and the sound is good , but I purchased a sound. I wanted theater quality sound, with my new view. It also has an audio voice when using remote. I like that too.

very good picture and features not quite the contrast of the higher end 55 inch tvs.. however on a dollar per value basis, it is an excellent choice and i suspect unless there were 2 sets side by side all viewers would give the picture quality very high marks

If you want a GREAT 1080p 55' LED TV for around 300 bucks you have found it! I could care less about 4k, and this 1080p picture on this TV looks amazing enough for me! I also have amazon fire TV, so I have no need for a smart TV... ENJOY!!!

Everything I expected for the price, picture is great! I have 5 Insignia TV's and love them all, 32", 39", 50", 55", all LCD 1080P and also an old 50" Insignia Plasma, which is on it's last leg...no complaints!

Really poor picture quality that is only marginally acceptable when you are viewing from dead-straight ahead in perfect light conditions. I do not recommend this TV. Not worth the little bit of money that it costs.
