“I have a slightly older version of this tv, just passed my two year purchase point last wee, and it died today. For what reason should I come back and buy another new tv from best buy that may or may not last two years, vs one from Walmart that's cheaper?”

• Because at least with Best buy they fix it in house (usually depending) with Walmart. It's Walmart.
