I’ve had mine for 3 weeks now and the smell does not let up , it actually gets stronger the longer the tv is powered on , I smell the tv within 4 feet of the room entrance . It’s scary and annoying.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Televisions are manufactured utilizing a wide range of parts and modules. As part of the manufacturing process for various small electronics parts, they are sometimes coated with a non-toxic oil to prevent corrosion. In addition, the electronic components are connected by a soldering process during assembly. When the new unit is initially powered on, those components are exposed to the normal operating heat of the unit. This warming up of those components can lead to a smell that is unfamiliar and can be interpreted as a burning type of smell. Under normal daily use, the burn-off period would rarely last longer than a week.
